I headed south. WAAAAAAAY south!
I needed some warmth!
I wandered around awhile, trying to decide where to go.
I thought about going to South America, but then I turned right in California
and ended up in Hawaii.
What is it about a Lab driving a Woodie that causes such
curiousity? It was obvious that they hadn't seen one before.
Once they got used to me, the natives were very welcoming.
I toured around the beaches. Hawaii
has some beautiful beaches. I just pulled up in the Woodie, got
out and went swimming. I love to swim and the water was so clear
and warm.
I even swam with dolphins. |

|
I island hopped, trying out as many beaches
as I could. |
I guess I soon became a beach fixture. As soon as
I pulled up someone would shout my name and try to give me a high five.
Since I had my dewclaws removed when I was 3 days old, all I could do
was give them a high 4.
Some of the beaches were pretty remote
and I had them all to myself. |
|
|
I tried to stay away from the more touristy
places. |
Sometimes the Woodie was the only vehicle
around. |
|
|
I did go out and see the haleakala crater.
That was pretty cool! |
I found myself on the road to the big
Island. |
|
When I got there some of the natives asked if I wanted
to enter a hula contest. I had never hula'ed before, but I was good
at wiggling my butt when I wagged my tail so I thought I'd give it a go.
|
I found a couple of hula outfits to wear
and joined the contest. |
I excelled in "beach wear" hula. |
|
|
I made it to the finals! I was
a hula sensation! |
Once again I won the beach wear portion
of the contest. |
|
|
I hula'ed my butt off and was declared
the winner!!! Nobody can wiggle their butt like a Labrador. |
Afterwards, I took a few days and relaxed.
|
|
Then I heard about a surfing contest on Oahu and thought
I'd go check it out!
