In Native
American/First Nations lore, the Raven would appear
in different villages in different guises; animal,
human or bird and through his inherent curiosity or
sense of mischief, alter the circumstances present
in that village. According to legend, it was Raven
who brought light to the world.
This
Raven sure had a sense of mischief and she certainly
brought light to my world.
Raven was
a once in a lifetime dog. She was scary smart and
so very willing to please. I'd point her in the right
direction and she tried her very hardest to do what
I asked of her. Raven's tail rarely stopped wagging
as she worked. She was my heart and soul and I thank
God for her every single day.
Raven,
at the time of her death, was the most titled Labrador
in the WORLD, and the most titled Labrador in the
history of the breed.
As someone
told me, "she is the Labrador that many of us
will measure every other Labrador against. What a
gem and what a gift from God."
All wins/titles
were strictly owner/non-professionally handled.
An
article about Raven in the Winter 2016 Labrador Quarterly
Raven was
recognized by UKC and entered into the UKC Nosework
Hall of Fame in 2023.
